Counselor

HIV Prevention Research Unit
Durban
(One Year Contract)

Counselors are required to provide the following duties:

• Infectious disease (TB/ HIV/ STI) education and counseling
• HIV pre- and post-test counseling/ general counseling
• Administer informed consent (IC) and assess understanding
• Administer questionnaires
• Group and individual education
• Maintaining study documentation
• Research Administration

Successful candidates must have:

• Matric (Grade 12) certificate
• Certified counseling certificate
• 1 – 2 years experience  including research counseling experience and training Pre-Test/Post-Test Counseling – General
• Be computer literate
• Be able to write reports
• Be able to work in a team and mentor co-workers

Advantages:

A salary in the region of R96 446 – R103 680 per annum, cost-to-company will be negotiated in compliance with experience/qualifications.
