Clinician
HIV Prevention Research Unit
Durban
One Year Contract
A dedicated, suitably qualified and experienced clinician is required to work with the Principal Investigator and Project Leader in managing the clinical aspects of HIV prevention and treatment trials.
Clinicians are responsible for:
- Clinical oversight of the safety of study participants including documentation
- Determination of clinical eligibility
- Training and supervision of clinical staff
- Review and action laboratory results
- Management of abnormal and laboratory findings
- Safety reporting
- Treatment, referral and following up of adverse events.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- MBChB with minimum 3 years experience
- Registered with the Health professions Council of South Africa.
- Knowledgeable in the treatment, care and management of STI’s
- Clinical trial or research experience would be an advantage
- Experience in obstetrics and gynaecology would be an added benefit
- Experience in ARV treatment is an advantage.
- Preferably trained in Good Clinical Practice.
- Computer Literate
A salary in the region of R464 622 per annum and upwards, cost-to-company, will be negotiated in compliance with qualification, registration, research experience and appropriate public sector scales.
